Katrina was a tree massacre. There are millions of tree bodies strewn everywhere. Some of the dead are leaning on the live ones. Some had half of them torn away - de-limbed. Then the chain saws came with their horrible roars, and then the bugs slowly ate away at what was left of the dying. Not to mention the piles of dead trees taken to the dump sites (where possibly a bit of live tree could be among the debris) and one by one they were fed into grinders where their guts were spewn into the air, and then one day even the mounds of leftovers disappeared and no one knows where. The forests sigh and moan.
