Home Improvement Part II
Well the sanding didn't really work, but it did cause a layer of dust to cover all surfaces (both large and minute), which I have now cleaned off FOUR times! Also the "floor machine," which was 17 inches and heavy as hell and under which we were supposed to place a screen underneath a pad underneath a brush, started bucking like a wild pig out of hell when we turned it on and got out of control and crashed into a dining room wall and knocked a foot square hole in it (the wall)! I swear! OH! Dear! Lord!
This is turning into a nightmare. We are going on the eighth night of everything we own being outside. Remember those tornadoes that hit Mississippi? Well our stuff was outside to begin with.
I would like to send a personal plea out to Marie Laveau, Jesus, God, all the loa, and Elvis and anyone else who might care to please (I'm Christian and a little bit Voodoo and very rock n roll) HELP US!
On a positive note I did discover these four things this weekend:
From The Fast Show on the BBC
And
Who I think is quite marvelous and Sam Cooke-like.
And J.J. Cale's "To Tulsa and Back" DVD (made my day).
And Mary Mahoney's food:
Hope all of y'all have your floors smooth, walls intact, and good music to live your lives by.
Oh yeah, overheard in the casino ladies room from someone in a casino uniform:
"They really need to loosen the slots up some."
