I think Sasquatch is capitalized.

I work in a library and get a call today from one of our librarians wanting to know if I know the particular date that a traveling circus came to town and a chimpanzee got loose in downtown Hattiesburg and wreaked all kind of havoc when they couldn't catch it. Someone in New York wants to know, and we need to find this information for them, and everyone said, "Suzy will know that." But I figured out that it had to be when I was living in Austin, because I don't remember it at all (and I would DEFINITELY remember this), because I am the self-appointed monkey-updater for all within physical and cyber earshot.

So anyway, this story leads nowhere (or *does* it?)

I'm searching the internet with all kinds of keywords like "loose monkey" and "downtown Hattiesburg" and come up with a site that has an invitation to the "Bigfoot Meet and Greet" at Lake PBJ outside Hattiesburg - last March! It's an extension of the Southeastern Sasquatch Association.

So the invitation is describing the camping situation and listing various motels in the area, and states that "there will be no organized outing." Everyone is free to search and to "follow the creeks."

The only charge is a covered dish for the gathering in a pavillion in the park. I think this might be the most fun thing to do that I can think of.

My son went with a Shakespeare class to Washington D.C. this past weekend to go to the Folger's Library, the Library of Congress, and to see a Shakespeare play, and I told him...

"Wherever life leads you always remember you come from a place where people talk about the McLaurin Sasquatch in the checkout line."

Here's some photos he took.
