June 11, 2005 The Adventures of Tornado Girl (The Twister Tournament)
Written by guest blogger and dear friend and co-creator of TG (along with his lovely
wife, Mary) Kevin Hendryx, and in honor of TG's birthday.
Tornado Girl slapped the dust off her green boots, rubbed her
green-gloved hands together, and said, "OK, boys, who's next?" But
from across the worn Twister mat where the other contestants
huddled in fear came no reply. She fastened her storm-grey eyes on
Atom-Man, who was busy trying to look miniscule and was even thinking of
splitting. "You! Yeah,
you in the red costume! Come and get some!"
"No fair, Funnel Femme!" Atom-Man protested. "You cheat. Why can't
we play a nice round of gin rummy?"
But Tornado Girl had already flicked the spinner and taken the first
turn. "Right Foot Red!" she cried triumphantly. Forming herself
into a small cyclone, she took her position on the Twister mat.
Atom-Man groaned, knowing that the jig was up. He made his move --
left hand yellow -- but in a matter of minutes he was tied in knots
and then sent spinning to the other end of the hall. Fools, thought
Tornado Girl to herself. To think to best ME at this game!
Ciao!
